Redesign Car Radio
For the course Human Factors we were devided in groups. Every group had to choose a device which has a user interface. Our group took a old car radio. We started with analysing the advantages and disadvantages of the old car radio in a Human Engineering Analysis. Questionnaires we made and filled in and a few user tests were done. After this heuristics were defined and the old car radio was evaluated by fellow students, experts.
Based on all these data gathered, possible solutions for the problems were sketched. A new interface was designed. This was done with the aid of guidelines and principles. The final design was realized with HTML and jQuery.
After the realization of the prototype, the new interface was tested and this test was evaluated. We did tests with people from different ages and with or without a driving licence. We simulated the environment of a real car by placing the chairs in a real car setup. Besides this the test person was playing a racing game and asked to execute tasks on the radio at the same time.
