Exploration: Responsive Design

As the name of the course already states the goal of the course Creative Explorations in Art, Science and Technology is exploration. The topic of this exploration could be chosen by the student itself. Since I work often with websites, I thought of the subject Responsive Design. I have basic knowledge about the techniques behind websites, but I never studied adaptation of websites to different devices. This is why I thought it would be interesting to learn more about this topic.

Started is with a literature study, researching the problems and assumptions concerning Responsive Design. Next to this, the different techniques that could be used to implement Responsive Design are searched for. Later examples of existing websites, with a strong implementation of Responsive Design are looked at.

After studying the principles of Responsive Design I did implement the principles and techniques in a new created website. The existing websites were used as inspiration to optimize the website for all different kinds of devices.
