Technical Drawing

For the premaster I followed a course Technical Drawing, part of Mechanical Engineering. In a few lectures the main rules and principles of technical drawing were taught. The main points were about how to deal with different projections, dimensions, screw thread and surface and place tolerances.

Next to this, I learned to work with Solid Works. In some tutorials the basic principles of Solid Works were taught; how to make different parts and connect them into an assembly. Finally, I learned how to make the technical drawings of a model.

This knowledge was tested in an assignment in pairs in which we had to design a trash bin press, including a screw thread. We had to think of the construction our selves and decide which parts had to bought where. The construction was created in Solid Works, and after that the technical drawings were made; the main assembly drawing, the subassembly drawings and the drawings of the individual parts.
